“turkey and stuffing, or brie with lashings of cranberry sauce are seasonal staples that warrant passive aggressive Ross Geller “MY sandwich!” post it notes in the office fridge.”

Come Christmas, the humble sandwich is transformed into a thing of beauty. Cheese or ham just won’t cut it this time of year – turkey and stuffing, or brie with lashings of cranberry sauce are seasonal staples that warrant passive aggressive Ross Geller “MY sandwich!” post it notes in the office fridge. It’s true, we hold a special place in our hearts for the seasonal sarnie.

This got us thinking about the ultimate Christmas sandwich, but is there such a thing? This year, we’ve seen a huge range of veggie and vegan options – with more choice than ever.

We couldn’t resist hitting the high street for a taste test. Putting Pret, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose up to the test, we rated their veggie sarnies on taste, indulgence, value for money and festive feels. It was a tough job, but someone had to do it.
