Meet the team: April

April 2021

“What started as a chat over a coffee turned into a multi award-winning campaign that excited the industry and shifted the dial for Unilever Food Solutions.”

Fiona Hamilton – managing director

Fiona is an ex-journalist with 15 years’ experience in food & drink. She kicked off her career as a regional journalist interviewing the likes of Boris Johnson, Keith Floyd and Pharrell Williams, before joining William Reed and the world of food and drink publishing.

Over the last 14 years at William Murray, she’s created award-winning campaigns for some of the industry’s biggest names including: Elior, Bidfood, Unilever Food Solutions, McVitie’s, The Cavendish London, Nestle Professional and Kraft Heinz.

Fiona’s mix of strategic thinking and creativity help generate powerful PR campaigns that deliver commercial results of clients. She’s got her finger on the pulse when it comes to media, trends and insights which all bring an edge to campaigns.

She sits on the Springboard Charity’s fundraising and marketing committees, works closely with Arena shaping its online events programme and hosts our Taste Shakers networking room on Clubhouse.

A memorable project or campaign you’ve worked on?

It’s got to be Knorr’s Gluten Free campaign. What started as a chat over a coffee turned into a multi award-winning campaign that excited the industry and shifted the dial for Unilever Food Solutions.

Your top food trend prediction for the next year?

Whatever it is, tech will be at the centre. From alt proteins and blockchain to apps and AI there’s so much changing the face of the industry just now. And a lot on the horizon to get excited about.

What’s your favourite podcast?

I like to mix things up. The BBC Radio 4 Food Programme, Eater Upsell and The Spoon all feature heavily. I also love You Me & The Big C. And Table Manners is worth a listen.

Any passion projects or volunteering outside of work?

I’m joining Springboard’s latest trek – they’re getting teams together to pound the pavements in the UK and walk (virtually) the distance from here to Nicaragua.

Your favourite food memory?

A lot of my favourite memories revolve around food. Dining in the sky suspended from a crane, cooking lunch at home with Keith Floyd for a magazine piece and eating at Tickets are all up there. Just now though, I’d give anything to get back round the table with family.
