Now is your chance to help protect the jobs of 1.8 million chefs, waiters and restaurateurs, help get the hospitality industry back on its feet and enjoy some fabulous food

The team loves food and loves our industry. So when the Government launched the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme involving thousands of restaurants across the UK we were quick to get out and support.

The initiative means that diners can receive 50% off – up to £10 per head – on their food and drink orders on Mondays to Wednesdays this month when they eat out. Now is your chance to help protect the jobs of 1.8 million chefs, waiters and restaurateurs, help get the hospitality industry back on its feet and enjoy some fabulous food!

A whopping 75,000 individual restaurants signed up to the scheme and among them were some of our favourite foodie spots in Croydon.

Here’s our top five Croydon picks:

Boxpark

Oatoppia

A lunchtime favourite for the team at William Murray! From pesto linguine to peach Bellinis, Boxpark Croydon is made up of over twenty-five delicious street food restaurants and bars, covering cuisines from around the world.  Our favourites: Oatopia for Croydon’s best coffee and Coqfighter, for everyone’s favourite fried chicken.

Little Bay

Situated in South Croydon, Little Bay offers a lovely selection of modern European and French cuisine, and is also known for its quirky theatrical décor and live opera evenings. If you decide to head over this month, we recommend their crab profiteroles – utterly moreish!

Mr Fox

Open since December 2018, this award-winning cocktail pub offers a variety of delicious dishes and a fantastic atmosphere (including bookable shuffleboard tables). Our menu favourite: the vegan beetroot wellington.

Although alcohol is not included in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, who can resist one of the famous cocktails?

Ponte Nuovo Ristorante

Ponte Nuovo serves up a deliciously authentic Italian menu and is rightfully celebrated as one of Croydon’s best restaurants on TripAdvisor. The restaurant offers a wide selection of meat, veggie and vegan dishes and is renowned for its handmade, mouth-watering tiramisu. The modern lounge interior makes it the perfect venue for any celebration, particularly a post-work glass of vino.

The Store

Last, but defiantly not least, is one of our all-time favourites, The Store. Although known for its popular pasta dishes, The Store serves up a whopping brunch offering. Our favourite? The streaky bacon benedict served with dry cured bacon in an English muffin with organic poached eggs, sriracha hollandaise sauce and chives.

If you aren’t close to Croydon, you can find all the venues registered to the scheme within five miles of your postcode by popping it into the Government website here. #SupportLocal
